Should I take a GMAT prep course?
Unless you already have an outstanding GMAT score, probably it will be very useful to take a prep course if you’re a foreign student looking to enter into a good quality school. You should look for a prep course which is run by a well-organized school which can give you the knowledge, the confidence to take your tests, can help you reach your target score, and can help you develop and present your essays in good quality English and in a well-organized manner suited to each school that you are aiming for. Therefore, my recommendation for international students particularly that they should, yes, take a good prep course.
How can I show leadership capabilities?
Even if you haven’t had the opportunity to lead teams in your work environment, you can probably show up a lot of opportunities where you’ve exercised your leadership capabilities. If you’ve developed and led a football team, if you’ve organized the debating championship, if you’ve organized fundraising for an NGO or helped in some of your neighborhood to organize activities, these are all important leadership traits. If you’ve never done any of these, a sound piece of advice is to get up and start doing something like that which you can put in a curriculum in a favorable light.
What’s the difference between MBA and EMBA?
Executive MBA is usually a part-time program. At our school it’s held on Fridays and Saturdays every two weeks over a two-year period. Executive MBA is for very mature students who already have a lot of practical experience and know all the basic concepts from that experience. The regular MBA can be either full-time or part-time and in the full-time MBA, which in our case is a one-year program, you take a deep dive into the main concepts and study lots of cases to create practical applications. You also have the opportunity to exchange experiences between good number of students who have typically 7 or 8 years professional experience.
